Longines once again is the protagonist of the 118 ͣ  edition of Fiera Cavalli from 10 to 13 November 2016. Verona is the fourth leg of the Western Europe League
Longines’ passion for equestrian sport dates back to 1878 with the production of a chronograph bearing the engraving of a jockey and his horse. The continued commitment of the brand into horse riding, is once again demonstrated by the significant investment of Longines in the development, in cooperation with the FEI, of timing and management of advanced data services, and related technology, specific for equestrian sports. The development of these services relates multimedia applications, the giant screens, display boards and tv broadcasting of the FEI events worldwide. Furthermore, to cheer the guests of the fair, was exepcionally places the Longines Carousel, a free ride for all the kids who wanted to get closer to the horse world and receive a souvenir instant photo shot.

And concluded in the evening with the spectacular Gala d’Oro always into the World Cup arena.

Sunday was the closing day of the event and the most important, as it hosted the Longines FEI World Cup. At the start of the first round of the Grand Prix of CSIW5* 37 riders ready to face the track prepared by the chef de piste Uliano Vezzani: 13 fences, 16 jumps total, height 1 meter 60, of which thanks to Longines I was able to make the reconnaissance with explanation jump to jump. Only 13 of the riders at the start were then able to pass free from penalty at the first manche and have access to the jump off. Among them two italians Emilio Bicocchi and Gianni Govoni. Into the jump off the Egyptian Abdel Said, riding his Hope van Scherpen Donder, was the author of a surprising evidence for technical quality and speed. No penalty and time blocked at the fastest time of 37.96 seconds. Even the second in the final standings, French rider Simon Delestre, winner of the Grand Prix last year in Verona and current No. 2 in the Longines World Ranking, has remedied a gap of almost 2 seconds with Chesall Zimequest (39.62 seconds). Even more detached the Swiss Martin Fuchs with Clooney, third without penalty, but with a time of 40.62 seconds. Last clear round in the jump off to the Swede Douglas Lindelöw on Zacramento, fourth with 41.89. The first italian air force athlete Emilio Bicocchi with Ares closed the barrage with a fallen and clock at 40.56 seconds. Also a fault for Gianni Govoni, 10° with Antonio (41.74). Here is the complete ranking Longines timing

Abdel Said lives in Europe since he was a guy. He was a pupil of one of the great Dutch riders of the 80s: Emile Henrix. Today, at 27 years of age, has a stable in the countryside in Belgium in Antwerp. It ended the Grand Prix Longines FEI World Cup, final class of Jumping Verona with a result that made history.

My first victory in the World Cup. An indescribable feeling. I’m here in Verona for the second time, and on both occasions I have competed in this wonderful competition thanks to a wild card FEI that I thank for because this way makes it possible for riders who are not among the top places to confront the top of the ranking. In Italy I always find it very good for me and special thanks go also to Eleonora Ottaviani, no event director as she is able to listen to the needs of riders and Uliano Vezzani. When he is the chef de piste which traces the paths is always very good to me … I should always take it with me. Who I am? I live in Belgium since I was 11 years old, I have now 27. At 19 I entered the stables of Jan Tops and at 21 I created my very own,
