LONGINES GLOBAL CHAMPIONS TOUR IN MONTE-CARLO: DAY 1

Saturday I left for Monte-Carlo with Longines’s team for attending the sixth stop of the Longines the Global Champions Tour: after some hours in private transfer we arrived at Le Meridien Beach Plaza hotel, directly located on the sea, where we had lunch on the terrace just arrived. In the afternoon I had freetime so I decided first a bit of relaxation on the beach and in the pool and then to stroll downtown between Japanese gardens and the casino. The time then for a hot bath in the iacuzzi of my circle suite, change clothes and go faster towards the arena of the LGCT in Port Hercule. The harbour of Mote-Carlo is undoubtedly the most breathtaking location I’ve ever seen for a show jumping competition. The arena is not large because as you can imagine space is limited, but the sea near only few meters, the extremely luxurious yachts and mountains in the background of the city at sunset make this a truly magical place, and this was only the frame because once I enter, we settled at the Longines stage, located across the entire width of the arena, where we had dinner and watched between delights and flutes of champagne, the Grand Prix du Monaco where Richard Spooner won, but the biggest surprise came to my table just after the dessert, Juan Carlos Garcia, the Italian rider who few minutes before conquered the second place of the Massimo Dutti trophy on Prince De La Mare, of which I was even allowed to do the reconnaissance. Along with Juan Carlos, to represent my country, there was also Luca Maria Moneta, and I had the good fortune to meet him too as well as the Australian rider Edwina Tops Alexander, a friend of Princess Charlotte Casiraghi, godmother of the event, and her Guccio both naturally in unmistakable Gucci total equipment. Longines then wished me sweet dreams. See you tomorrow with the review of the second day :)
