ROLEX FEI WORLD CUP IN VERONA

At Fiera Cavalli in Verona, after hall 3 dedicated to Sella Italiano breed, as my mare, where I attended the ASSI final of morphology and free jumping of foals of two and three years old (I would have taken home all of them babies!), at 2.30pm I moved to hall 7B dedicated to Jumping for the only Italian stop of the Rolex FEI world cup. Thank you for the wonderful reception Verona Fiere, living a competition like this directly at the entrance “door” of the arena with the best riders in the world, was simply breathtaking. Thank you! I had a strange feeling seeing Swedish Malin Baryard riding with the same boots who Tretorn sent me few months ago from Sweden, Emanuele Gaudiano with my new French Freejump boots (obviously not in purple, but blue!), Michael Whitaker next to me when last year I tried desperately to find the breeches of his equestrian line, but here in Italy they seemed just a pretty distant mirage. But the biggest thanks goes to him, Luca Maria Moneta, the Italian rider who made us all dream riding his Neptune and gaining the second place (just over two seconds more from Spanish Sergio Alvarez Moya who has dedicated his victory to Hickstead and his rider Eric Lamaze). Luca, is a great rider but also a great person, he is indeed spokesman of natural horsemanship: it’s right that passion and love for this sport win, we have to learn to listen to our horses. If the photos should not be enough, here you can see videos of all the starters. Now I think at the Salon du Cheval and the Gucci Masters in Paris where I’ll be at the end of the month. We will review Penelope Leprevost and Kevin Staut this time “playing at home”, and of course who else if not Edwina Tops-Alexander with her unmistakable Gucci uniform 😉
